A collection of paintings by
the Florida-based painter,
Reza, entitled "Chocolate and
Flowers," will be exhibited
through July 16 at Linda
Hayman Gallery in Farm-
ington Hills.
His work ranges from paint-
ings of sad-eyed funeral mar-
chers to highly stylized depic-
tions of large chocolate bars
and cookies. His variety
evolves from his desire to
create art in his new country
which he refers to as "the
land of milk and cookies,"
where all things are possible.
Born in Persia, Reza has
lifelong visual memories of
the colorful packages of can-
dy his father would bring to
his children. These images in-

spired Reza's creations in
later years.
Reza built his own multi-
million dollar graphic arts
and communication company
before pursuing a full-time
career as a painter in 1984.
Reza, 42, lives and works in
Palm Beach, Fla.

Exhibit hours at Linda
Hayman Gallery are Monday-
Wednesday and Friday, 9
a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday, 9
a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10
a.m.-5 p.m. Linda Hayman
Gallery is located at 32500
Northwestern Hwy., south of
14 Mile Rd., in Farmington
Hills.

New Prints Exhibit

"Collaboration In Print —
Stewart and Stewart Prints:
1980-1990" will have its first
exhibition July 7-Aug. 18 at
the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Stewart and Stewart is a
professional workshop in
Michigan publishing prints
on a regular basis. The fine
art printmaking workshop,
located in Birmingham, is the
joint project of Norman and
Susan Stewart. It has become
noted for limited edition
screen process prints. Some
demand more than 30 color
separations, an exacting pro-
cess that requires a high
degree of skill.
The exhibition consists of
56 prints by 20 artists. The
screen process dominates the
show, but cliche-verre, high-

relief intaglio and lithog-
raphy also will be repre-
sented.
Michigan artists in the
show are John Glick of Farm-
ington, C. Dennis Guastella
of Plymouth, Jim Nawara
and Lucille Procter Nawara of
Huntington Woods, Mel
Rosas of Royal Oak, Norman
Stewart of Birmingham and
Paul Stewart of Ann Arbor.
The exhibition is supported
in part by the Michigan
Council for the Arts and
ANW/Crestwood Paper Cor-
poration and Arjomari-
Prioux, S.A.
"Collaboration In Print"
will be open and free to the
public during museum hours:
9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Wednes-
day through Sunday.
