While his later work in-
eludes landscapes, portraits,
and scenes of the front during
World War I, Mr. Tanner re-
mains most celebrated for the

religious subjects.
Admission to the exhibition
is free; donations are sug-
gested. Free group tours of
the exhibition for 15 or more
persons may be scheduled by
calling the DIA ticket office,
833-2323. Public tours will be
offered at 2 p.m. Wednesday
through Sunday. A 15-minute
video on Henry Ossawa Tan-
ner will be shown continuous-
ly in the exhibition. The
Museum Shop will feature
the exhibition catalogue,
poster, and related materials.
The Detroit Institute of
Arts is open Wednesday
through Sunday, 9:30
a.m.-5:30 p.m. (closed Mon-
days, Tuesdays, holidays).
