Hershel Sandberg will be
honored for distinguished
community leadership by the
B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda-
tions of Metropolitan Detroit
at a reception 7:30 p.m. May
23 at the home of Barbara
and Bernard Stollman of
Birmingham.
Dr. Sandberg, a graduate of
Wayne State University'
Medical School, is a practic-
ing endocrinologist in
Southfield and is chief of en-
docrinology and metabolism
at Sinai Hospital. He is an
associate professor of
medicine at SWU Medical
School. He has been president
of the Medical School Alum-
ni Association and with his
wife Lois has been president
of the Anthony Wayne Socie-
ty for which he has been
awarded the Distinguished
Alumni Award by WSU
Medical School.
Dr. Sandberg has been the
recipient of the State of Israel
Maimonides Award for his
work on behalf of Israel
Bonds. He has been active
with Jewish Federation
Apartments, has served as
president of that agency, and

Judaism in Belgrade and
Zagreb during their five-day
visit.
The rabbis will be teaching
at the invitation of the
American Jewish Joint
Distribution Committee.
They will be providing an
intensive introduction to
Judaism for adults and chil-
dren and bringing materials
for continuing education.
