SPACE will sponsor a
workshop, "Single Parenting
With Love and Limits," to be
held at the SPACE office 7:15
p.m. Mar. 12.
The presenter of the
workshop, Barbara Lewis,
will utilize a lecture and ac-
tivity format, which will
enable participants to ex-
amine their current paren-
ting style while discovering
tools to enhance their effec-
tiveness. Pre-registration is
required.
. At 7:15 p.m. Mar. 13,
SPACE will offer a drop-in
discussion, "To Date Or To
Mater' No pre-registration is
required.
At 7:15 p.m. Mar. 19,
SPACE will sponsor a
workshop at its office on
"Power Motivation."
Catherine Schneider, the
presenter, will focus on self-
esteem, concentration and
the differences between
positive thinking and positive
focus. Pre-registration is
required.
On Mar. 20, SPACE will of-
fer a widowed discussion
group for men and women. In
addition, there will be a
divorce discussion group for
men and women who are
either separated or divorced.
Pre-registration is not
required.
On Mar. 27, "Letting Go"
will be discussed. No pre-
registration is required.
Drop-in discussion groups
are offered each Wednesday.
Pre-registration is not re-
quired. Divorce and widowed
support groups are offered
each Monday. Pre-
registration is mandatory by
calling SPACE, 258-6606.

SOLO (Jewish Single Par-
ents) will host David Gad-
Hart executive director of the
Jewish Community Council,
who will speak on "Israel and
the Persian Gulf" 10:30 a.m.
Mar. 10 at Temple Israel. A
9:30 a.m. business meeting
and continental breakfast
will precede the speech.
There is a nominal charge

The Jewish Community
Center Singles will present
"Masculine and Feminine
Energy, The Differences Bet-
ween Men and Women" at the
Maple-Drake building 7:30
p.m. Mar. 11.
Nick Berar and Lorraine

Weber, personal development
consultants, will explore the
hidden assumptions and
agendas that men and women
carry and how they create
conflicts and distances bet-
ween the sexes.

Center Singles from 21 to
45 will go to the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra for brunch
and a concert Mar. 17.
Brunch will be served at 1
p.m. at the Detroit Historical
Museum. The concert begins
at 3:30 p.m. at Orchestra
Hall.

Aliza Shevrin
Plans Lecture

Yiddishist Aliza Shevrin,
translator of several Sholom
Aleichem stories, will be the
featured speaker at a potluck
vegetarian brunch 10:30 a.m.
Mar. 10 for the JCC Singles at
Jewish Community Center of
Washtenaw County.
Mrs. Shevrin will speak
about "Di Yiddishe Momma
in Literature and Real Life?'
The JCC group is for singles
