Moshe Waldoks

Author, Comedian
At Maple Drake

Beau Jac

Moshe Waldoks, comedian,
storyteller and author will
appear 8 p.m. Mar. 9 at the
Maple-Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center as part of the
"Let Us Entertain You"
series.
Moshe Waldoks, co-editor of
The Big Book of Jewish
Humor, utilizes the irony, self-
mockery, crazy logic and ear-
thy realism of Jewish humor
as an antidote to the mishug-
gas of modern time. In the
tradition of the Jewish jester,
storyteller and the stand-up
comedian, he sees Jewish
humor as a reflection of a liv-
ing and breathing communi-
ty. Moving beyond stereotypes
and cliches, Mr. Waldoks
characterizes Jewish life.
This program is funded in
part by the Michigan Council
for the Arts and the Manny
and Natalie Charach Endow-
ment Fund at the JCC. There
is a charge. For information,
call the JCC, 661-1000,
Ext. 293.
