Kidd Gallery
Hosts Exhibit
The Robert Kidd Gallery
will host an exhibition of
paintings by Edward Evans
and Peter Gooch and glass
sculpture by Linda Ross
through Mar. 23.
An opening reception to
meet the artists will be held
3-6 p.m. Feb. 23.
Mr. Evans' paintings create
a dramatic trompe l'oeil illu-
sion of draped and folded
fabric, achieved through the
artist's photo-realist techni-
que. Mr. Gooch's rich, dense
paintings, layered with black
tars, gold leaf, acrylic and
molten silver, are reminiscent
of a resurrected Byzantium.
Linda Ross' abstract, vertical,
relief sculptures are layered
glass and metal, constructed
and patinated to resemble ag-
ed archeological treasures.
The gallery is at 107 Town-
send St., Birmingham, and
hours are Tuesday-Saturday,
10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Pleasures are manifesta-
tions of God's love.
