Boulevard Bridal. Today's Bride and
Sue Gordon Bridal Shop, notes that
many brides this season are looking
for the traditional styles in white and
ivory while the pastel dresses have
tapered off. "The portrait neckline
with an emphasis on shoulders and
an open neck is pouplar," says Ms.
Gottschling.
She notes the skirt is either sheath
style or full. "The slim or full skirt is
strong," says Ms. Gottschling. The
mermaid look is not as popular this
season.
Bridal fabric trends are moving
away from summer and winter fabrics
and trying to establish year-round
dresses. Ms. Gottschling reminds her
customers that the heavier fabrics do
support elaborate decorations better.
"Pearls and sequins together are
popular," says Mrs. Gottschling. She
adds that beading is still strong, but
the sequins add some sparkle to the
gown.
Boulevard Bridal, Today's Bride and
Sue Gordon Bridal Shop only carry
American bridal designers and
manufacturers. Some of the lace that
the designers use are imported, but
the designs are truly American. She
mentions that Ilissa and Galina are
two popular designs this season.
All styles are found in a range of
price points. There is no single feature
that makes a gown more or less
expensive. The difference is the fabric
and if it comes from a designer.

Headpieces

According to Bride's magazine, the
simpler bridal gowns have sparked a
trend to more elaborate headpieces.
