A candle-lighting ceremony
will be followed by ethnic

Chanukah refreshments.

Parichehr Yomtoob

Sisterhoods
Hold Elections

Parichehr Yomtoob, author,
educator and activist, was
elected president of District
11, National Federation of
Temple Sisterhoods. A resi-
dent of West Bloomfield, Ms.
Yomtoob was born in Tehran
and educated at Tehran
University. She is a past
president of the Temple Beth
Israel Sisterhood in Jackson
and in South Bend, Ind.,
where the family formerly
resided.
Ms. Yomtoob is the author
of Gift of Life, a chronicle of
her family's struggle to
secure a donor for her then
13-year-old son, afflicted with
Wilson's disease, a rare
genetic disorder which
destroys the liver. The book
details their ultimate
triumph.
Other officers elected at the
district convention included
vice presidents, Judith
Schultz, West Bloomfield;
Carol Singer, Grand Rapids;
Marlene Goodman, Birm-
ingham; Laurice La Zebnick,
Jackson. Jenny Patterson,
Oak Park, was elected recor-
ding secretary; Fredda
Unangst, Ann Arbor,
treasurer; and Barbara
Heilveil, Ann Arbor, cor-
responding secretary. New
board members are Myra
Atzenhoffer, Jackson; Lois
Gerenraich, Birmingham;
Lillian Maltzer, Oak Park;
Adrienne Milin, West
Bloomfield.

Mt. Clemens Group
Plans Latke Party

The sisterhood of Beth
Tephilath Moses synagogue
in Mt. Clemens will have
their annual Chanukah latke
party 5:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the
synagogue.
Lighting the menorah,
songs and performances by
their own musicians will be
part of the program. A drama
will be presented by the Sun-
day school students.

Hosts Luncheon

The Avodah, Chai, Brandeis
Chapter, Na'amat USA, will

Whitehall Apartment club-
house, for their annual
"Dollars for David" luncheon.
A Chanukah candlelighting
ceremony will follow and the
program will conclude with a
musical program.

Tikvah Chapter, B'nai
B'rith Women, will hold their
annual Chanukah party noon
Dec. 18 at Sutton Place club-
house. Members are asked to
bring their own mah jongg
sets and cards. There is a
