Parichehr Yomtoob Sisterhoods Hold Elections Parichehr Yomtoob, author, educator and activist, was elected president of District 11, National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods. A resi- dent of West Bloomfield, Ms. Yomtoob was born in Tehran and educated at Tehran University. She is a past president of the Temple Beth Israel Sisterhood in Jackson and in South Bend, Ind., where the family formerly resided. Ms. Yomtoob is the author of Gift of Life, a chronicle of her family's struggle to secure a donor for her then 13-year-old son, afflicted with Wilson's disease, a rare genetic disorder which destroys the liver. The book details their ultimate triumph. Other officers elected at the district convention included vice presidents, Judith Schultz, West Bloomfield; Carol Singer, Grand Rapids; Marlene Goodman, Birm- ingham; Laurice La Zebnick, Jackson. Clemens Group Plans Latke Party The sisterhood of Beth Tephilath Moses synagogue in Mt. Clemens will have their annual Chanukah latke party 5:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the synagogue.
