Coordinator
Gwen Budow has been
named singles coordinator for
the Jewish Community
Center of Washtenaw County.
A Huntington Woods
native, Ms. Budow worked
five years as director of Hillel
programs for graduate stu-
dents and young professionals
at 12 Chicago-area univer-
sities. She also is a clinical
social worker in the depart-
ment of physical medicine
and rehabilitation at Univer-
sity of Michigan Hospitals.
At the JCC, Ms. Budow will
coordinate activities for the
Outing Club, for Jewish
adults in their 20s and 30s,
and the JCC Singles, for
those over 40.
Ms. Budow received a
master's degree in social work
from the U-M in 1985. Her
husband Maury is a fellow in
geriatric medicine at the U-M
Medical Center.

As Singles Topic
A session on "Marriage, In-
termarriage and Racism: a
Jewish Perspective," led by
Rabbi Abraham Jacobovitz of
Machon L'Torah, will be 7:30
p.m. Jan. 8 at the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community
Center.
The session will be an
analysis of the complex issues
of marriage and intermar-
riage in contemporary Jewish
living. It is co-sponsored by
the JCC singles and cultural
arts departments.
