field, a longtime supporter of
the Detroit Sephardic Corn-
munity, died Nov. 18. He was
70.
Mr. Chicorel was a real
estate and investment broker.
He was treasurer of the Real
Estate and Construction
Lodge, B'nai B'rith, a
member of the Jewish War
Veterans, a 32nd degree
Mason with the Perfection
Lodge, a former Eagle Scout

DAVID D. WATKINS, 79, of
Farmington Hills, died Nov.
19. He leaves nieces and

Bloomfield Hills, died Nov.
16.
Mr. Pulcer was a phar-
macist, member of the
Michigan Pharmaceutical
Association, Wayne State
University Alumni Associa-
tion, Adat Shalom and its
Men's Club, B'nai B'rith, and
past officer of Aesculapian
Mens Association.
He leaves his wife, Hilda;
son and daughter-in-law, Dr.
Mark and Genie of Flint;
daughter, Marlene of Bloom-
field Hills; sister, Bernice
Keller of California.

Volunteer Police Department
of Southfield.
Mr. Chicorel's parents were
founders in 1917 of the
Sephardic Jewish Communi-
ty of Greater Detroit. David
Chicorel was named presi-
dent of the organization when
his father stepped down. He
was instrumental in creating
many of the Sephardic Com-
munity's ongoing programs,
and was active in the group's
regular minyan and holiday
services.
Mr. Chicorel leaves three
daughters and sons-in-law,
Hinda Askenazy of Hun-
tington Woods, Marily and
David Megdell of Flint, Judie
and Mark Herstand of Mil-
waukee, Wis.; brothers and
sister-in-law, Albert of Novi,
Ralph and Debbie of
Whitefish Bay, Wis.; sister
and brother-in-law, Shirley
and Marcel Behar of South-
field; seven grandchildren.

H.E. Appelman

H. Esther Appelman, 87, of
Southfield, died Nov. 17.
Mrs. Appelman was a social
worker in Detroit with the
Jewish Welfare Federation.
She was a member of
Hadassah.
She leaves her son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Henry
and Marlene Appelman of
Ann Arbor; sister, Edith
Sauls of San Diego Calif.; two
grandsons.
