From Chuck Pearlstein, a humble 26-year-old who inspires people
more than twice his age with a range of good deeds, to Bessie Chase,
a pint-sized, 80-year-old dynamo of energy intimately involved with

To honor those Jews in our midst who, through unusual or
extraordinary acts of personal charity and kindness, touch the lives
of Jews and non-Jews in the metropolitan Detroit area, and in the
hopes of having their actions inspire others in our community to
perform similar acts, The Jewish News will publish its third annual
Mitzvah Heroes special section.
We invite you to nominate a person or persons you may know for
this special honor. A panel of distinguished judges will select the
honorees, whose work will be featured in the special section.
Additionally The Jewish News will make a meaningful financial
contribution to the charities selected by the honorees, in their names.
Please fill out the form below, clip it, and return it with a description
of the acts or charity and kindness performed by the nominee. All
nominations must be received by Friday, December 14, 1990.
"Happy is the man whose deeds are greater than his learning."
