The Chamber Music Socie-
ty of Detroit will present its
third concert of the 1990-91
season 7 pm. Nov. 11 at Or-
chestra Hall. Featured will be
the Slovak Chamber Or-
chestra of Czechoslovakia.
Founded as an independent
state ensemble, the Slovak
Chamber Orchestra was _af-
filiated with Slovak Philhar-
monic in Bratislava. The or-
chestra has performed more
than 2500 concerts
throughout four continents
and is a regular participant
in the celebrated Prague
Spring Festival.
Tickets for the Nov. 11 per-
formance are available
through the Orchestra Hall

Guild benefit, hosted by
Jacobson's and Great Oaks
Mall will be held 7 p.m.-9:30
p.m. Nov. 13 at the mall.
Paula Blanchard, former
wife of Michigan's governor,
will autograph her new book,
'Til Politics Us Do Part.
Sports fans will have an op-
portunity to meet Tom Oprey,
an editor of Outdoor Life, and
International Hunter. Joe
Falls, columnist for the De-
troit News, will autograph the
book, Daily Life, co-authored
by Chuck Daly, coach of the
Detroit Pistons. Joan Embe
will share a number of techni-
ques for tying scarves.
Members of the Guild will
wear some of the costumes
from the Meadow Brook
Theatre costume wardrobe
and will model Jacobson's
furs.
The benefit will assist
Oakland University's
Meadow Brook Theatre, now
in its twenty-fifth season.
