The Hillel Foundation at
the University of Michigan
and the Jewish Community
Center of Washtenaw County
will present the 1990 91
Celebration of Jewish Arts
and Writers series. This
year's line-up includes Nobel
Prize winner Elie Wiesel, the
newest in klezmer music, a
film on the Holocaust and
storytelling.
The opening event 8 p.m.
Sept. 25 at Hill Auditorium,
will feature Elie Wiesel. This
evening will be jointly spon-
sored with The Raoul
Wallenberg Lecture and
Medal.
The film The Lodz Ghetto
will be shown Oct. 13-14. The
Nazis forced the 200,000 Jews
of Lodz, a textile center with
the second-largest Jewish
population in Europe, into a
sealed, internally self-
governed ghetto, creating a
huge work camp for the Ger-
man war effort. This film
depicts the Nazi-appointed
Jewish leader of the ghetto.
Grace Paley, short story
