sider harmless caricatures
and the ugly, and sometimes
violent, bigotry directed at
Jewish women."
Comedian Lambert said
the JAP song is not meant to
represent a group of Jewish
women, but is actually fash-
ioned after a wealthy female
friend of Stone's who took no
offense by the song.
"Our intention was — and
still is — to put out an album
with some very good positive
messages as well as songs
just for fun. Anyone who
listens to the album will pick
up on the positive vibes of it
immediately," Mr. Lambert
said.
He stresses that there are
positive, anti-drug messages
in their songs, such as
"Accountant Suckers" and
the educational messages of
Jewish history and pride in
"Young Jews Be Proud."
"We find it regrettable
that there would be any con-
troversy,"Mr. Lambert said.
"It would break my heart if I
thought we were offending
anyone."
With "Hatikvah," the
Israeli national anthem,
playing in the background to
a rap beat, "Young Jews Be
Proud" sings the song of
Jewish heritage:
"We were enslaved by the
pharaohs 'til God sent Moses
even after he delivered us it
was no bed of roses . . . so
when you kick this rhyme
you'll want to say it out loud;
You are the nation of our
fathers Young Jews Be
Proud!"
Hot Productions, the
record cOmpay that produces
2 Live Jews' label, Kosher
Records, pay Lambert and
Stone quarterly. "We
haven't even made a penny
on it, yet. But I predict it will
do very well," Mr. Lambert
said. D
