71, of Detroit, died Aug. 9. He
leaves his wife, Evelyn;
daughters and son-in-law, Dr.
Terry Edelstein of Wash-
ington, D.C., Ellen and Mar-
shall Mueller of Washington,
D.C.; mother, Helen of West
Bloomfield; brother and
sister-in-law, Dr. Theodore
and Myra of East Lansing;
sister, Myra Dromi of
Jerusalem; two grand-
children.

Augusta Pernick,
Pharmacy Owner

Augusta Feral Pernick, 80,
of West Bloomfield died Aug.
13.
Mrs. Pernick was born in
Russia. She was co-owner of
Pernick's Pharmacy at
Rochester and Dexter in
Detroit from 1934-1962. She
worked in the payroll depart-
ment for the Detroit Board of
Education for more than 10
years. She was a member of
Aesculapian Pharmaceutical
Society, Hadassah and B'nai
B'rith Women.
She leaves son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Stuart
and Cynthia of West Bloom-
field; daughter and son-in-
law, Roslyn and Dr. Milton
Spencer of West Bloomfield;
brother, Harry Krause of
West Bloomfield; nine grand-
children and one great-grand-
son.

Irwin Nathanson,
Insurance Exec

Irwin "Buddy" Nathanson,
72, of Southfield, died Aug. 8.
Mr. Nathanson was born in
Toronto, Ont. He was an in-
surance executive and owner

He was a member of

Mrs. Group — City of Hope.
He was the first reci-
pient of an award created by
the Mr. and Mrs. Group,
"Buddy Nathanson Worker of
the Year Award."
He leaves his wife Ruth;
daughters and son-in-law,
Audrey and Leon Schurgin of
Farmington Hills, Marilyn of
Southfield; son, Alan of
Culver City, Calif.; brother
and sister-in-law, Leonard
and Rebecca of Farmington
Hills; sister, Elaine Ross of
Southfield; three grand-
children.

Mrs. Frank was born in
London, England, and has
been in Englewood for the
past nine years. She was an
actress and was active on the
commercial stage in Detroit,
including the Vanguard
Repertory Theatre, Picollo
Opera Company and the Cass
Theatre. She also was on the
radio and stage in New York.
She was a member of the
Sisterhood of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, Hadassah,
the Screen Actors Guild and
AFSTRA.
She leaves son and
daughter-in-law, Elliot Frank
and Melissa Moon of Ann Ar-
bor; daughter and son-in-law,
Sarah Frank and Landis
Oleskar of New York, N.Y.
sisters, Rose Levy of England,
Clara Fox, Miriam Gilman of
San Francisco; one grand-
