Outdoor Sculpture
Exhibits Planned
Artful Domain: The
Damon/Burdick Gallery will
host an exhibit of outdoor
sculpture June 16 through
July 31. It will take place
both at the Birmingham
gallery and at its Ann Arbor
affiliate 16 Hands, 119 West
Washington.
The exhibit will feature
work by the following artists:
0. Evan Lewis, '113m Torrens,
Norma Penchansky-Glasser,
Mark Chatterley, R.G. Brown,
and Scott Brazeau.
Chicago artist, 0. Evan
Lewis, creates kinetic
sculpture of metal and found
objects. His work reflects his
reverence for nature and his
fascination with natural
forces. One piece, entitled "El
Rey del Sol," resembles a sun-
dial, but instead of telling the
hour it tells the time of year.
By aligning shadows it
denotes midday on the sum-
mer and winter solstices and
the spring and fall equinox.
Tom Ibrrens, from Gig Har-
bor, Wash., employs sound as
an important element in his
sculpture. His large steel bells
and gongs and brass bird
baths reflect his "less is
more" philosophy.
