Temple Plans
Class In Judaism

Temple Emanu-El will offer
an introduction to Judaism
course at 7 p.m. on Thursdays
beginning May 24 and conti-
nuing through Aug. 9.
This class will be a survey
of Judaism designed for lay
people as well as candidates
for conversion. Topics include
the holidays, life cycle events,
basic concepts and structures
of liturgy and Jewish history.
In addition, it will introduce
the basics of the Hebrew
language. Instructors include
Rabbi Lane Steinger, Rabbi
David Feder, Cantor Norman
Rose, and Dottie Dressler.
The tuition will be $35 a
couple, $25 an individual, as
well as the cost of the books.
Hebrew may be taken
separately for $20 an
individual.

To Give Lectures

Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
of Bais Chabad Torah Center
will speak on "The Kohain in
Our Day and Age" at 8:15
p.m. May 7 at the Torah
center. The lecture is part of
a series on basic Judaism. For

Michigan, will hold a lecture
at 2 p.m. May 20 called "At-
taining Financial Success .. .
Ethically," focusing on dilem-
mas facing Jewish business
people. Rabbi Yitzchak
Breitowitz, a law professor at
the University of Maryland,
will speak.
The lecture will be held at
