Recipe Suggestions
For Passover Meals
Kojel Company, known for
its kosher-for-Passover jel, hot
chocolate and instant pud-
ding desserts, has introduced
a new Instant Chicken Fla-
vored Consomme, a low-
calorie soup that doubles as a
flavor booster for meats,
poultry, soups and salads.
With no MSG or cholesterol
and 20 calories per one ounce
serving, Kojel's new con-
somme can be used in almost
every recipe.
WHITE FISH IN
JELLIED SAUCE
4 slices white fish, or
other fish of choice
1 sliced carrot
1 large onion
1 /4 cup sugar, or to taste
1 /2 tsp. salt, dash pepper
1/2 packet unflavored Diet
Kojel
2 cups cold water
Mix 1/2 packet Kojel and
seasoning with cold water
beating with fork or wire
whisk until fully dissolved,
and no lumps remain. Bring
water to a boil, lower flame,
and slowly add remaining in-
gredients. Cook over low
flame for 1 1/2 hours, or until
fish has reached desired tex-
ture. Pour fish sauce into
serving container while still
very warm, or else it will set
in the pot. To vary the jellied
consistency, add 1/2 cup less
water for thicker sauce.
TRADITIONAL
CHICKEN SOUP
21/2-3 lbs. chicken cut into
pieces, (3 lb. wings or
giblets can be
substituted)
1 Packet Kojel brand
Instant Chicken
Flavored Consomme
6-8 Cups Water
Place cut up chicken in pot,
and cover with water in
which packet of consomme
has been dissolved, and bring
to a boil. Lower flame and
cook until chicken is tender.
Serves 5 to 6.
CHICKEN WITH
BAKED POTATOES
& BABY CARROTS
Y2 package Kojel Chicken
Flavored Consomme
4 chicken bottoms
1/2 package frozen baby
carrots
1 green pepper, sliced
1 onion
3 large potatoes, cubed
1 cup boiling water
On bottom of large baking
dish, arrange potatoes, car-
rots, onion and green pepper.
Put chicken bottoms on top,
skin side up. Dissolve Kojel
chicken flavored consomme in
boiling water, and pour onto
chicken. Bake at 375 degrees
for 1 1/2 hours or until chicken
and potatoes are done.
PARVE CHOCOLATE
PUDDING
1 package Kojel Instant
Chocolate Pudding
1 cup parve coffee
whitener
1 cup parve liquid
unwhipped whip
topping
Mix coffee whitener and
whip topping in large bowl.
Sprinkle contents of package
into liquid, beating constant-
ly with wire whisk. Some
lumps will remain. Allow to
set in refrigerator for about V2
hour, or until lumps disap-
pear. If any lumps still show
up, let stand again, and
rebeat. This recipe may also
be used for ice cream. Just set
in freezer and serve.
