ving Auslander, and one
grandson.

Guild and a volunteer for
many years at Northend
Clinic. She organized the
volunteer program and was
coordinator of volunteers at
Sinai Hospital for many
years.
Mrs. Hartman was the win-
ner of the Heart of Gold
Award from the United Foun-
dation for community service.
She leaves sons and
daughter-in-law, Jay of
Southfield, Richard and Nan-
cy of Farmington Hills;
daughters Shirley Gruber of
Birmingham and Jane
Blumberg of West Bloomfield;
13 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.

Harold J. Ash,
Wallpaper Owner

Harold J. Ash, 81, of
Southfield, died March 28.
Mr. Ash was the co-founder
and president of Ash
Wallpaper Co. He retired and
sold the business in 1979.
He was a member of Temple
Israel, Pisgah Lodge B'nai
B'rith, Perfection Mosaic
Lodge F&AM and organized
an Uncle-Nephew Club that
met monthly.
He leaves his wife, Sylvia;
daughters and sons-in-law
Phyllis and Ernest Wolfe of
Long Beach, Calif., and Lois
and Dr. Stuart Falk of West
Bloomfield; brother and
sister-in-law Leo and Cecille
of Southfield; seven grand-
children and a great-grand-
daughter.

Mollie R. Hartman, 93, of
Southfield, died April 2.
Mrs. Hartman was a life

Helped Disabled

Alex Klein, 75, of Sterling
Heights, died March 28.
Klein, who was
developmentally disabled,
fought for Michigan's mental-
ly handicapped. He received
the Hugh Graham Inspira-
tional Award from the
Oakland County Association
for Retarded Citizens and
served on the citizen's ad-
visory committee of the
Macomb-Oakland Regional
Center.
He leaves sisters and
brother-in-law, Celia Kepes of
Oak Park, Augusta Meyers of
Detroit, Sadie Beth Bennett
of Ann Arbor, and Ruth and
Henry Widrich of Southfield.

Mr. Leibowitz was the

in Oak Park. He was a

Detroit Floor Covering
Associates. He was Man of
the Year 1989 for Floor Cover-
ing Associates and received
their first lifetime achieve-
ment award.
He leaves his wife, Ruth; a
daughter and son-in-law,
Leila and Dr. Michael
Eidelman of Farmington
Hills; a son and daughter-in-
law, Martin and Esther of
Huntington Woods; brother
and sister-in-law Carl and
Helen of Southfield; sister
and brother-in-law Jean and
Theodor Schmidt of South-
field; and two grandchildren.

Jane Finkelstein,

Jane Finkelstein, 56, of Far-
mington Hills, died April 3.
Mrs. Finkelstein was a
sales representative in gift-
ware. She was a member of
Temple Emanu-El and served
as religious vice president of
the sisterhood and chaired
many committees at the
temple.
She leaves her husband,
Stanley; sons and daughter-
in-law Gary Becker of Wixon,
Eric Becker of Farmington
Hills, and Alan and Cherie
Finkelstein of Cherry Hill,
N.J.; daughters and sons-in-
