Olympic and World Figure
Skating Champions, 8 p.m.
April 11 at the Joe Louis
Arena.
There is a charge for
tickets, proceeds from which
will go to the United States
and Canadian figure skating
associations.

State Table Tennis
Championships Set

The annual Michigan state
table tennis championships
will be March 31 at the
University of Michigan-
Dearborn in the Fieldhouse
Arena.

free. Open finals start at 4
p.m.

Add GM System

Monterey, Calif. — The
Newman/Haas and Galles-
Kraco racing teams are
among the six that will be
using General Motors' new
GEN-III engine manage-
ment system in the CART
PPG Indy Car World Series
this year.
The smaller, more power-
ful system replaces the
GEN-II system which helped
four teams using the Chevy
Indy V8 engine win 13 of 15
PPG Cup races last year.
The Detroit Grand Prix is on
that circuit.
