Major Events Planned
For 1990 AJCampaign
Pulitzer Prize-winning jour-
nalist A.M. Rosenthal will
speak when the 1990 Allied
Jewish Campaign officially
opens Dec. 13.
The event at Adat Shalom
Synagogue begins with a
cocktail buffet at 7 p.m. A
dessert reception will follow
Rosenthal's address. Admis-
sion is to contributors of
$1,000 and over to the '90
Campaign.
Rosenthal has been with
the New York Times for the
past 40 years as a reporter,
foreign correspondent, ex-
ecutive editor and columnist.
He has written two books and
more than 100 magazine
articles.
Paul Borman and Joseph H.
Orley are chairmen of the
1990 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign. There will be no
solicitation of gifts at the
meeting. There is a charge,
and resevations are required.

Campaign Shabbat
Next Weekend
"Partners for Life" is the
theme of Federation/Cam-
paign Sabbath, to be held
Dec. 8-9 at metropolitan area
synagogues and temples.
It will focus on the work of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion, its local social service
agencies and worldwide pro-
grams supported by the
Allied Jewish Campaign.
The event is a prelude to
the Campaign's Super Sun-
day phonathon Dec. 10.
