-

iffy-two years ago, from
the city of Barawich,
Poland, Rita Eisenstat
came to America and in 1940
married Irving Lipsky. She
was her family's sole survivor
of the Nazi Holocaust.
Was like a miracle recently
when Rita received a phone
call from the Hebrew Im-
migrant Aid Society in New
York that a cousin, Sam Bern-
stein, son of her mother's
brother, and Sam's wife and
daughter had escaped from
Russia . . . and were in Italy
hoping to come to the United
States.
HIAS learned that the
Bernsteins had a cousin liv-
ing in Detroit and contacted
Rita . . . She immediately
went to the Jewish Welfare
Federation for help, got them
an apartment, and is waiting
to meet the cousins she has
never seen.
Sam Bernstein's father,
Abraham, is in Russia, with
Rita now making attempts to
get him here also.
CONGRATS . . . to Ger-
trude and Stuart Palmer .. .
on their 49th anniversary ... .
to Andrea and Robert Lawton
. . . on their second
anniversary.
