Mrs. Seidon was a member
of the Youth Education
League, a past trustee of the
National Jewish Hospital in
Denver, a chairman for the
Anti-Defamation League of
B'nai B'rith—Michigan
Region and a member of Tern-
ple Beth El and Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
She leaves her husband,
Burton; a son, Sanford (Celia)
Lakin of West Bloomfield; two
sisters, Dorothy (Sidney)
Fishman of Huntington
Woods and Pheda (Bernie)
Slipakoff of Philadelphia; and
five grandchildren.
Ruth S. Kanter
Ruth S. Kanter of West
Bloomfield, a former teacher
and national president of
Pioneer Women, died Aug. 9.
She was 78.
Mrs. Kanter also was also
active in several other Jewish
organizations. She was vice
president of Masada and
president of the League of
Jewish Women.
She leaves two daughters,
Marcia (Alvin) Buch of
Southfield and Betsy (Dr.
Joel) Cohen of West Bloom-
field; a brother, Harold
(Gloria) Greenbert; a sister,
Florence (Ralph) Klegon of
Coconut Creek, Fla.; and four
