JARC Has
Name Change
Out-going JARC president
Michael S. Feldman announc-
ed that JARC is now the of-
ficial name of the
organization.
Formerly the Jewish
Association for Retarded
Citizens, Feldman explained
that "the word retarded is no
longer considered a dignified
or accurate description of the
people we serve. The board
determined the organization
will now simply be known as
JARC and will describe itself
as a Jewish association for
residential care for persons
with developmental
disabilities."
