Don't look
how different
he is from
your son. But
how alike
he is.
He's mentally retarded. But he
has the same interests the same
wants and needs that any boy
does.
There are 6 million mentally re-
tarded citizens in America. 6 mil-
lion sons and daughters who
want to go to public schools,
who want to work and want 'to
live useful, happy lives. It's up to
us to make sure they get those
opportunities.
So, please, help us. You'll be
helping 6 million Americans who
desperately need you.

Playoffs Are Sunday
For AZA Basketballers
Michigan Division run-
nerup Akiba of Detroit will
try to avenge its only regular-
season defeat Sunday when it
plays division champion
Herzl of Windsor in the 1 p.m.
opener of the Final Four AZA
Basketball League Tourna-
ment at the Jewish. •Com-
munity Center Maple/Drake
Building.
Akiba lost to Herzl by two
points in overtime in the se-
cond game of the regular
season, finishing with the
same 7-1 won-lost record as
Herzl. But Herzl's victory
earned it the division title.
The Akiba-Herzl winner
will earn the right to play for
the tournament champion-
ship at 3:30 p.m. Sunday
against the winner of the 2
p.m. Great Lakes Division
playoff game.
Great Lakes champion
L'Chaim Jihad, 6-2 in the
regular season, will meet
runner-up Chalut-
zim/Strauss, 4-4. Although
Mendoza and Kishon Chip-
munks, both 4-4, tied Chalut-
zim/Strauss for second place
in the division, the latter won
the playoff berth because of
its better record (4-1) in intra-
divisional play.
The final games of the
regular season were played
May 14. L'Chaim Jihad
defeated L'Chaim/Achim Mat-
zo Balls, 49-40, with Jihad's
Marc Jacobs scoring 25 points
while the Matzo Balls' Ian
Lopatin hit for 17. Akiba edg-
ed Chalutzim/Strauss, 34-33,
in overtime, with Chalutzim's
Jeff Kline leading all scorers
with 18 points. Jolson, behind
Dan Serlin's 24 points,
walloped Mendoza, 54-27,
with Mendoza's Dan Frieden-
zohn leading his team with
13. Kishon Chipmunks, with
Ben Keidan's 21 points and
Eric Lullove's 14, defeated the
Kishon Mustangs, led by
Jason Zaks' 10. The score was
41-30. The Mustangs got
their only victory when Rose
Rebels forfeited the last game
of the day.
Jihad's Jacobs's 17.5 points-
per-game average tied him for
unofficial league scoring
leadership with Herzl's Josh
Polsky.
The winner of Sunday's
tourney will play the top
players from each team in the
AZA League All-Star game
scheduled for June 4.
