Les Miserables is a depar-
ture for Aharon-Dor given its
international scope. But long
before Habibi, the singer ap-
peared in theatrical shows in
Israel.
As far as his current project
is concerned, Miserables loves
company — Yuval is also a
member of the Les Miserables
company.
In fact, Yuval took to the
barricades first. "When she
got the offer, we saw it as a
wonderful opportunity," says
her husband, who was then
offered a role himself.
Does this rock the status of
Habibi? "No, we decided we
can still keep performing
with the group," he says.
Meanwhile, Les Miserables
is making the Aharon-Dor
family quite happy. Les
Miserables is just so human,
so emotional. No matter
where you were born, you can
relate to it."
As an Israeli, Aharon-Dor
certainly relates. "The show
is about heroism, the will-
ingness to sacrifice one's self
for ideals," he says. "These
issues have a lot to do with
Israel." ❑
