Techner Wins
Funeral Post

David M. Techner of the Ira
Kaufman Chapel in South-
field, was installed as presi-
dent of the Michigan Funeral
Directors Association at its
110th annual convention.
Techner is the organization's
youngest president.
Techner has appeared as a
regular guest on "Sonya,"
"Kelly and Company," WJR's
"Midday Magazine," "Dona-
hue" and "Home".
A graduate of the Wayne
State University School of
Mortuary Science, Tbchner
has served on the MFDA
board of directors represen-
ting southeast Michigan with
the exception of Detroit pro-
per, and as recording
secretary, vice president and
treasurer, and president-elect.
Techner is also known for
his extensive speaking on
grief and bereavement and

United Way Adds
Home For Aged

United Way for South-
eastern Michigan, formerly
United Foundation, has add-
ed the Jewish Home for Aged
as a member agency.
The Jewish Home for Aged,
which serves the elderly in
need of supervised care, will
receive funds as a result of
the 1988 Torch Drive.
