Toledo, Ohio — Jeff Deitch
of Detroit defeated his old
nemesis, Dick Amos, 3-1 in
games Saturday to win the A
division amateur champion-
ship in the North American
Squash Open at the Ibledo
Club.
Deitch lost to Amos, the
Ohio state champion from
Ibledo, in the finals last year.
Deitch, an osteopathic resi-
dent at Botsford Hospital, is
ranked as Michigan's No. 2
amateur and plays out of the
Maple/Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center. He was the
State Class A runner-up in
January.

Softball Loop
Slates Meeting

The planning meeting for
the 1989 B'nai B'rith Softball
League is scheduled,for 6:30
p.m. May 8 in the B'nai B'rith
Building.
League play is to begin in
mid-May, according to Marty
Melton, athletics chairman.
He said members' 1989 dues
must be paid for them to be
eligible to play.

Baskin Leads
Vets' Bowling

Harold Baskin's 630 series
led the Jewish War Veterans
Bowling League through
April 12. He had games of
214, 212 and 204.
Rich Grossman rolled a 233
game enroute to a 624 series
while Carl Berlin had 216
and 213 games in a 601
series.
Joe Silver led all bowlers
with a 237 game.
