Machon Mbrah, in conjunc-

Jerusalem, Israel, will offer
partial scholarships for any
Jewish college student or
young professional from
Michigan for a summer learn-
ing program at the Torah In-
stitute of America in Moodus,
Conn.
The program includes cam-
ping, recreation, room and
board in a Jewish intellectual
environment. The women's
program will begin June 18
for two weeks. The men's pro-
gram will begin July 12. Se-
cond session for the men will
begin Aug. 6.

Jewish Law Students
Association will hold its an-
nual brunch Sunday. This
year's guest speaker will be
Paul D. Borman, chief federal
defender and president of the
Jewish Community Council.
There will also be a party
8 p.m. Saturday at the
Millstreet Inn. Admission
will be donated to the UJA
Law Student Campaign.

Passover Focus
Of College Event
Rabbi Eli Finkleman, direc-
tor of the B'nai B'rith Hillel
Foundations of Metropolitan
Detroit, will lead a workshop
on the "How's and Why's of
Passover" at noon Monday.
The meeting is sponsored
by the Jewish Students
Organization at Oakland
University and will be held in
the Faculty Lounge of
Oakland Center. In addition
to the workshop, elections
will be held for next year's
officers.
On Wednesday, the JSO
will participate with the
other campus ministries in
the "Ice Cream Giveaway"
held prior to final exams.
Students and faculty are in-
vited to join the JSO opposite
the Iron Kettle in Oakland
Center.

MSU Hillel
Plans Weekend
Hillel Jewish Student
Center at Michigan State
University will offer a free
"welcome back weekend" of
activities today-Sunday. The
festivities will begin with
Shabbat dinner at 7 p.m.
followed by an Oneg Shabbat
at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at noon,
there will be a bagel and lox
brunch. The Sunday evening
program will include Israeli
dancing and refreshments,
beginning at 5 p.m. Please
reserve your place at the
Shabbat dinner by noon to-
day. Rides are available. Call

Hillel will offer Pesach
seders on April 19 and 20
beginning at 7:15 p.m. The
charge is $7.50 per student. A
lunch and dinner meal plan is
available April 20-27 with a
meal rebate program for dorm
residents. Reservations for
both the seders and meal plan
should be made by Monday.
There will be a Holocaust
round-table discussion on
Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the
Hillel. All are invited. Call

(BCI), a one-month leadership
program for young adults
ages 19-26, is accepting ap-
plications for the 1989 sum-
mer sessions.

denominational Jewish pro-
gram which offers par-
ticipants an oportunity to ex-
plore contemporary Jewish
issues with scholars from
around the world. Each day is
filled with discussions, lec-
tures and workshops in
Israeli folk dance, music,
drama and art. In addition,
paricipants enjoy swimming,
horseback riding, sports and
free time.
BCI is located in Southern
California. The 1989 sessions
will run from June 18 to
July 16 and July 18 to Aug.
