Parenting
Series Planned
The Jewish Community
Center of Metropolitan
Detroit's child development
center and family programs
department will sponsor a
special series of workshops for
parents entitled "Mastering
the Art of Parenting:
Strengthening Families, Rais-
ing Happy and Successful
Children and Enjoying Your
Children."
The five-part series of
workshops will run in two
tracks beginning Sunday: a
1:30 p.m. track for parents
to attend together and a
3:30 p.m. track for single
parents. The series will
feature family therapist
Denise Donnelly.
Among the topics to be
focused upon in the series at
the Maple/Drake Building
will be: building self-esteem,
how to discipline and
eliminate punishment, anger
in children, sibling jealously,
stubborness, competitiveness
and who's in control in the
family — the parents or the
kids.

Bonds Unit
Hosts Seminar
The Metro Detroit New
Leadership Division of State
of Israel Bonds will sponsor
an "IRA for Israel" break-
fast seminar on Thursday, at
8 a.m., with Jonathan Brate-
man, IRA chair for New
Leadership, as moderator.
The seminar will address
the ways young adults can
help Israel's economic
development through IRA
funds, while at the same time
earning competitive interest
rates.
The event will be held in
the board room of the new
Israel Bond offices, Suite 324,
29201 Telegraph, (Manufac-
turers Southfield Tower).
There will be no charge. Call
