Mezzo soprano, Alice
Blumberg will perform
Thursday at 11 a.m. at the
"For Women Only” Club at
the Jewish Community
Center's Jimmy Prentis Mor-
ris Building.
Blumberg began her profes-
sional singing career at age 4.
Using the name Alice Kaye,
she sang with entertainer
Mickey Katz. At age 7, she
was discovered by Cleveland
radio personality Al
Cameron. She appeared with
him regularly until he left for
Hollywood and work with the
Marx Brothers.
Blumberg appeared weekly
on the "Gene and Glenn"
radio • show and worked
throughout the country with
performers Kaye Ballard,
Frank Gorshen, Jack Soo and
Larry Storch. She also per-
formed for numerous local
organizations including the
city of Oak Park. She is a
soloist with the Temple
Emanu-El choir.
She will be accompanied by
Doris Hall. The public is in-
vited free of charge.

Weinberg, who will review
The Proprietor's Daughter by
Lewis Orde at 1 p.m. in the
library of the Maple/Drake
Building.

Seniors Have
Book Review

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center will present a
book review by Frances
Weinerg at 11 a.m. Tuesday
in the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building, room 4. She'll
review Life After Harry by
Virginia Graham.
Jennie Sutherland, a do-
cent from the Detroit
Zoological Society, will speak
on "Animals of the Bible" on
Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the JPM
assemblyhall.
Archie Leslie will show the
movie, Not The Same Old
Story, following the lecture.
Chana Klein will direct a
Jewish literature group in the
JPM library at 10:15 a.m.
Wednesday.
Residents from the

Fleischman Residence will
have lunch, visit with old
friends, attend Rabbi Ben-
jamin Gorrelick's lecture and
be treated to entertainment
and refreshments at the
Wednesday Afternoon Social
on Wednesday.
Dr. Samuel Pultuskar will
speak to the Yiddish Culture
Club on "Emise Meises Vegen
Gute Menschen" on Thursday
at 12:30 p.m. in Jaffe Hall of
the JPM.

Driker Fund
Hosts Concert

The Jewish Community
Center, Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building, will present a con-
cert sponsored by the Charles
and Frances Driker Fund for
Yiddish Culture at 1 p.m.
April 13 in Jaffe Hall of the
JPM.
Music of Jewish composers
for soprano and four-hand
piano will be performed by
Joseph Gurt, Fedora Horowitz
and Marilyn Krimm under
the direction of Mrs.
Horowitz.
The program will be
presented by the Yiddish
Culture Club of the Jewish
Community Center.
This concert initiates
cultural programming spon-
sored by the Driker Fund for
the Center. Admission is at no
charge, however reservations
are required. Call the JPM,
967-4030, for reservations.

Senior Adults
Play Bridge

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center plays bridge
in room 239 of the
Maple/Drake building each
Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Tables
are formed on a first-come
first served basis.
Refreshments are served.
There is a nominal charge for
non-members. For informa-

'Jolson Story'
To Be Shown

The Jolson Story, the life
story of Al Jolson, will be the
"Friday Morning Feature" at
10 a.m. today in the assembly
hall of the Jewish Communi-
ty Center's Jimmy Prentis
Morris building.
