Moshe Fox, consul for press

Chicago, will deliver the se-
cond lecture at the B'nai
David cultural forum at 11
a.m., April 9. His topic will be
"Reflecting on the Peace Pro-
cess."
Fox, who was born in Haifa,
Israel, graduated from the
departments of general and
Jewish history at the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem. He
holds a master of arts degree
in contemporary Jewish
history, specializing in the
history of the American
Jewish community.
Fox joined the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and served as
assistant in the information
division and assistant to
foreign ministers, the late
Moshe Dayan and Yitzhak
Shamir. In 1981, he was
posted to the embassy in
Washington. He served as an
assistant to three Israeli am-
bassadors to the United
States.
Upon his return to Israel,

the Rabbinical Assembly's
Committee on Jewish Law
and Standards.
Rabbi Roth will deliver a
sermon on "The Halachic
Process: How Jewish Law
Changes." during services
April 8. A catered luncheon
will follow. At 11 a.m. April 9,
the synagogue will hold a
joint brunch meeting of the
board of trustees and the
ritual committee, who will
discuss with Rabbi Roth the
issue of "Women in Jewish
Ritual." Rabbi Roth also will
speak at a post-bat mitzvah
class and lunch at noon April
7. He will discuss "The Laws
of Shabbat."
All Encounter Weekend
events are open to the com-
munity. There is a charge for
the Shabbat luncheon and for
the post-bat mitzvah class
and lunch. Those interested
in attending the luncheon,
the class lunch, or the April
9 brunch meeting must make
reservations by Monday. For

Nelson Named
