ALL JEWS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EACH OTHER - Talmud Shavuot
THE DETROIT JEWISH COMMUNITY
is being called upon to
SAVE A LIFE
Hadassah Bone Marrow Drive
Sunday, March 12, 12:00 - 3:30 pm
Jewish Community Center, West Bloomfield
If you are between 18 - 55 years old and
in good health you have the ability
within yourself to save the lives of men,
women and children in our community
who need a bone marrow transplant. As
a people it is not only our responsibility
to save a life, it is our privilege. A
simple blood test will determine if you
can be a match donor.* The chances of
finding a donor for each patient is one in
15,000. We really need you.
Because chances of finding a match
improve when ethnic backgrounds are
similar. Your blood test really counts!
Results will be added to the Hadassah
Bone Marrow Registry as well as the
International Registry Bank to benefit
patients worldwide. Roche Biomedi-
cal Laboratories charges $50 for each
test. Hadassah has established a fund to
subsidize some testing. Your caring
contribution of any amount will help
defray this expense. No one will be
denied testing for lack of funds. People
not eligible for blood tests or those al-
ready in the registry may assist by send-
ing a contribution to: Hadassah Bone
Marrow Drive, 5030 Orchard Lake Rd.,
West Bloomfield, MI 48033. For more
donor information, please call Elaine
Soleymani, M.D. 357-1061 or Hadas-
sah Greater Detroit Chapter, 357-2920
or 683-5030.
Lawrence Jackier
Sadie Cohn will be this year's
honoree.
Mrs. Cohn, with her late
husband, Irwin, has been a
long time supporter of Hillel
and Jewish education. The
special guest speaker will be
Dennis Prager.
For information on the
sponsors event or dinner call
Hillel Day School,
851-2394.
Your involvment in this good deed is both needed and appreciated
because you are giving a precious gift...a life.
* If you have already been tested you need not be tested again, but please ask a friend to be a donor.
