JEWISH YOUTH GROUP WAS FINE
BUT WHAT ABOUT Now?
One was planted beneath
B and P Vice President and
Jewish Vocational Service
counselor Sherry
Lumberg's glass. Lucky
pennies went to teachers,
real estate brokers and
Hudson's wardrobe
consultant Eleanor
Shiland, a newcomer to
the women's group.
Spotted in the group were
Bunny Goldman of the
Michigan Council for the
Arts, public relations
executive Zina Kramer,
Southfield District Judge
Susan Moiseev, Weizmann
Institute Director Edie
Mittenthal-Slotkin, local
artist and designer Maxine
Snider and social worker
Pam Sorock, the event's
chairman.
GORMAN'S GALA
After extensive renovations,
Gorman's in Troy re-opened
with a gala event.
Metropolitan Home
magazine, Saks Fifth
Avenue and Drexel
Heritage helped sponsor
the event. Some of the
people in the crowd
celebrating included
Bernard Moray, president
of Gorman's, Ken and
Julie Korotkin, Mark and
Arlene Rubinstein, Les
and Miriam Colburn, Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Zahler,
Paul and Susie Karr,
Marlene Gropman,
Burton Simon and
Rochelle Holtzman.
JENNIFER GEORGE
Fashion designer Jennifer
George was at Roz and
Sherm recently fon a trunk
showing of her spring line
which includes comfortable
fabrics in fabulous colors.
Jennifer is not the only
talented member in her
family. Her husband Mark
Cohn is a singer and is the
voice in the J.C. Penny
commercial and the
Cadillac style
advertisement. Her father
George W. George is a
movie producer. He
produced the movie, My
Dinner with Andre. Her
mother Judith Ross is a
screenwriter. Her parents
both wrote television
scripts for "Bonanza!' And
her, grandfather is the
famous cartoonist Rube
Goldberg. For inspiration
in fashion design, Jennifer
doesn't count on her family.
"I start with fabrics and
sketching."
Sometimes it's hard to find that perfect mix—combining time
for friendship, career networking and Jewish culture.
B'nai B'rith Women brings it all together.
BBW represents a diverse community of women with
a common heritage. Responsibility and social action, education
and equal opportunity are as much our tradition
as celebrating the holidays.
Jewish youth group days may be a part of your past, but
that camaraderie and shared experience is part of the present
at B'nai B'rith Women.
