of everyone thinks its
fun to turn 50, but
surprise party for
Helen and Jack Victor's little
girl, Marilyn Victor From-
mer, was a bunch of laughs for
the shocked lassie and about
40 guests . . . Hubby Al From-
mer conspired to lure friends,
business colleagues and fami-
ly to Lelli's Inn recently to en-
joy everything Lelli's is noted
for and the big surprise.
Sylvia and Ron Mracky,
Al's sister and brother-in-law,
were limousined to Lelli's
from Metro Airport after a
flight from their Toluca Lake,
Calif., home near L.A. . . . On-
ly one of the two Frommer
sons could get in for Mom's
surprise . . . Mark, an invest-
ment banker at Exchange
Bank in Chicago, flew in .. .
but Larry couldn't because he
was with the Michigan State
University Marching Band at
the Gator Bowl in Jackson-
ville, Fla. . . . Marilyn's
brother, Arnie Victor, joined
his parents in honoring sis
. . . Family members on the
surprise team included
cousins Evelyn and Nate
Rostker and Shirlee and Jack
Iden . . . A happy coincidence
was the presence of Tzviah
Iden, Shirlee and Jack's
daughter, from Tiberias,
Israel, who was also
celebrating her birthday.
Helping orchestrate the
festivities were friends
Marilyn and Joe Accardo
(they invited the Frommers to
dinner in a clever scam), Cin-
dy and Murray Franklin,
away on a Mexican vacation
but whose presence was felt
when they sent Eastern
Onion, and Fran White, who
helped keep the secret.
Others celebrating included
Ron White, Carole and Arnie
Isner, Ceryle and Herb Clif-
ford, Rita and Sid Barish,
Clare and Jim Whiting, Joy
and Don Sherman, Lynne
and Ralph Stillwell, etc. . . .
Also Mitzi and Ron Brown,
Gloria and Allen Bell, and
Renee and Dennis Porvin (the
gals belong to a many-years-
long mahj group with
Marilyn).
The surprise birthday
brought a bright smile and
blush for the Eastern Onion
gent's hi jinks . . . and
Marilyn probably wished she
was just turning 50 again.
