The Officers and Board of the Michigan Chapter of the American
Friends of the Hebrew University mourn, with deep sorrow, the
passing of our esteemed colleague and friend,
WILLIAM HADER
Dr. Haber was a longtime member of the Hebrew University's
Board of Governors, Co-Chairman of its Academic Affairs Com-
mittee and a National Vice President of the American Friends
of the Hebrew University. An active leader in Jewish affairs, Dr.
Haber was a Founder and a generous supporter of the Univer-
sity. In 1986, the Haber Chair in Economics was created to honor
him. A former dean of the College of Literature, Science and
the Arts at the University of Michigan, he also authored several
volumes in labor relations, unemployment insurance and social
security and served as consultant and labor arbitator around the
world.
His loss will be felt internationally and we extend our sympathy
to his wife, Fannie, his sons, Ralph and Alan, and all other
members of the family.
