Robert and Charlotte Har-
ris of West Bloomfield will
celebrate their 50th wedding
anniversary this week. He
was merchandise manager at
the B. Siegel Co. She was a
teacher in the Detroit Public
Schools.
Since their retirement; they
are active in community life.
Robert is a member of the
board of trustees of 'Kemple
Beth El, a director of the
American Jewish Committee,
Detroit Chapter, past presi-
dent of Crescent Shrine Club,
founder and first president of
a senior citizen group of gem-
I
ple Beth El called Beth
Elders, and a member of the
Continuing Residency Com-
mittee of West Bloomfield.
Charlotte is a member of
the Institute of Retired Pro-
fessionals at the Jewish Com-
munity Center.
Their children are Ibm and
Jackie Harris. They have
three grandchildren, Michael,
Jeff and Tami, all of Malvern,
Pa.
The Harrises will celebrate
their 50th wedding anniver-
sary with a small group of
family and friends at a dinner
dance at the Radisson Hotel.

Stavish Forms Troupe,
Has Class For Teachers
Storyteller Corinne Stavish
will begin a "Story Theater
Troupe," sponsored by the
Midrasha-College of Jewish
Studies, a division of United
Hebrew Schools.
The troupe is offered for
those who have always
wanted to act. It combines im-
provisational theater games
with literature. Participants
wil learn theater games and
reherse and perform stories
from Jewish tradition. No ex-
perience is necessary.
The troupe will meet on
Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., begin-
ning Feb. 7 at the Sigmund
and Sophie Rohlik Building
of the United Hebrew Schools.

Stavish also will teach a
course for religious school
teachers, entitled, "Tell Me a
Story," and will focus on how
to enhance a classroom with
stories as well as developing
story telling skills.

Two credits towards Hebrew
school teacher certification
will be given upon completion
of this course.
This course is open to the
community. It will meet on
Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. begin-
ning Feb. 9 at the Sigmund
and Sophie Rohlik Building
of the UHS. There is a charge.
