Refuseniks Hold
Hunger Strike

New York (JTA) — Women
refuseniks in four Soviet
cities staged a one-day
hunger strike Monday in
solidarity with activist
Viacheslav (Slava) Ouspen-
sky, 19, and his parents, Igor
and Inna Ouspensky, the Na-
tional Conference on Soviet
Jewry reported.
The women, members of
Jewish Women Against
Refusal, issued a statement,
which read in part: "We de-
mand to put an end to
lawlessness and give Slava an
exit visa for Israel."
The Ouspenskys have been
refused since 1979.

Jewish Climber
Scales Everest

Seattle (JTA) — Dr. Geoff

Mount Everest, the world's

Tabin, 32, has been rock
climbing and mountain clim-
bing for the past 15 years.
This most recent attempt
was his third to scale Everest.
"I always focused my goal and
that was to get to the top of
Mount Everest," he said.

During the coming week Yeshlvath Beth
Yehudah will observe the Yahrzelts of the
following departed friends, with the tradi-
tional Memorial Prayers, recitation of Kad-
dish and Studying of Mishnavos.
