Willa Rouder

"The Jubilee Year of the
DSO: A Backstage View." She
is the artistic administrator
for the Detroit Symphony Or-
chestra. The luncheon pro-
gram also celebrates the 40th
anniversary of Brandeis

University and the National
Women's Committee.
Rouder was affiliated with
the Buffalo Philharmonic Or-
chestra, Carnegie Hall and
the Smithsonian Institution.
She has written publications
that include liner notes for
the Musical Heritage Society
and Time-Life Records, which
netted her a 1981 Grammy
nomination. She is an alum-
na of Brandeis University and
was formerly a teaching assis-
tant there.
Past presidents of the
Detroit Chapter of Brandeis
University will be honored at
the luncheon program. Ac-
tivities have been planned by
program chairperson Elaine
Krohn Medwed. Chairman of
the day is Regine Shulman.
Proceeds will be used for
the Brandeis libraries.

Journalist Farber Speaks
For NCJW Branches

The National Council of
Jewish Women, Greater
Detroit Section and Business
and Professional Branch, will
present broadcast journalist
Barry Farber on Nov. 30 at
7:30 p.m. at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
Farber's talk is entitled "An
American Jew Observes
Israel At 40, Palestinian
Uprising At 1."

Farber has been a steel-
worker, a Golden Gloves box-
er, a newspaper editor and
foreign correspondent, a
mayoral candidate in New
York, and twice was awarded
"The Sexiest Male in Broad-
casting" prize.
He was the first American
free-lance journalist to enter
the Soviet Union, covered the
Hungarian refugee outpour-
