Opens Branch

The Bnei Akiva-Young
Israel Youth Movement of
Detroit announces the open-
ing of a new Bnei Akiva
branch at Young Israel in the
10 Mile and Greenfield, Oak
Park/Southfield area.
Bnei Akiva's main branch
in Detroit is at the Young
Israel of Southfield.
Bnei Akiva will be training
local youth counselors to lead
weekly Kvutzot Shabbat
Groups at the synagogue and
will be organizing several ac-
tivities for the different age
divisions of Bnei Akiva, rang-
ing from the lower elemen-
tary gi-ades through high
school age. For more informa-

Appel, at 967-3742.
Bnei Akiva-Young Israel of
Southfield Kvutzot Shabbat
Groups, in conjunction with
Sunday Fun Groups will
gather for a Shabbaton this
weekend at the Young Israel
of Southfield. During the
weekend Rabbi Elimelech
Goldberg will address the
group on the weekly Torah
portion.

Group Meets

A JETS (Jewish Teens in
Service) orientation meeting
will be held on Monday at 7
p.m. at the Jewish Communi-
ty Center, Maple/Drake
Building.
Area teens are matched
with many community
service-oriented organiza-
tions. This year's par-
ticipating organizations in-
clude the Anti-Defamation
League, Fleischman Resi-
dence, Jewish Parents In-
stitute, Jewish Family Ser-
vice, the Jewish Community
Center and Sinai Hospital.
Teens in grades 10-12 are
welcome.
