Jewish Music
Network Meets
The Detroit Jewish Music
Network will open its second
season with a workshop/
meeting on Sunday at 2 p.m.
in the Schmier Chapel of
Ibmple Israel.
Cantor Harold Orbach of
Temple Israel will conduct a
workshop entitled "Techni-
ques of Performance." Cantor
Orbach is a lyric tenor whose
repertoire includes operatic
roles and a wide variety of
vocal music as well . as the
liturgy of the synagogue.
Elaine Serling, music direc-
tor of the Birmingham Tem-
ple Sunday School, dancer,
singer and song-writer, will
present "Songs for
Chanukah," taken from her
songbook Sing and Celebrate.
The Detroit Jewish Music
Network was established last
year by Cantor Orbach and
Elaine Greenberg, music co-
ordinator of Temple Israel
Religious School. Its member-
ship includes teachers, com-
posers, performers and others
involved in Jewish music.
New members are welcome.
