Mark Herman, son of Alice
and Bert Herman and Joshua
Rubin, son of Lori Rubin and
Mark Rubin, will twin the
observance of their b'nai mitz-
vah celebration Saturday at
Mat Shalom Synagogue with
Michail Priven, son of Ida and
Felix Priven of Mosk. Oblast,
USSR.
The Privens first applied for
exit visas in May 1981 in
order to join their family in
Israel. Every six months they
apply, but they are always
refused.
Ida's father, Leonid, born in
1913, is bedridden and her
mother spends most of her
time caring for him. Michail
will be 13 but as it is forbid-
den by Soviet law for anyone
under 16 to take part in a
religious ceremony, he will be
denied his right to be a bar
mitzvah.
Mark and Joshua have
written to Michail and they
will attempt to reach the
family by phone.

March Of Dimes
The March of Dimes Jail
and Bail will begin Tuesday
for four days at Tel-12 Mall
and the Renaissance Center
downtown. For a fee, one can
have a friend, business ac-
quaintance, or spouse "ar-
rested" by the March of

carcerated, the "prisoner"
spends one hour to raise the
"bail" fixed by the "judge."
