Auschwitz Survivor
At Holocaust Dinner

Susan Vigorito, the
youngest survivor of
Auschwitz-Birkenau, will be
a special guest at the
Holocaust Memorial Center's
fourth anniversary dinner on
Nov. 6.
Susan (Sarah) and her twin
sister, Channah Seiler, were
born in Berlin, Germany,
while their mother and older
sister were in hiding in 1941.
They remained in hiding with
their paternal grandparents
until early 1944 when they
were discovered by the Nazis.
They were immediately
transported with others to
Auschwitz, first by truck and
ending in a long traumatic
train ride.
At Auschwitz-Birkenau, the
twins became victims of ex-
tensive human experimenta-
tion performed by the
notorious Dr. Josef Mengele
at whose hands Channah
died just before liberation.
Mrs. Vigorito's academic ac-
complishments include a B.A.
degree in philosophy and a
M.A. degree pending the com-
pletion of her thesis. The title
of her master's thesis is, "A
Solution to the Problem of
Anti-Semiticm in the Con-
temporary Church." She
teaches a course on Holocaust
at Villa Maria College in
Erie, Pa. She also conducts a
seminar on human trauma
and suffering at the same col-
