Fashion Show,
Lunch For NCJW

The National Council of
Jewish Women, Greater
Detroit Section, will launch
its fall season with an open-
ing membership luncheon
and fall fashion show on Oct.
11 at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
Registration will begin at
11:30 a.m., and the luncheon
will start promptly at noon.
The event is open only to
paid-up NCJW members.
There is a charge. In addition,
the section is inviting as its
guests all those who have
become life members between
Oct. 1, 1987, and Sept. 30,
1988. Everyone must make
reservations. For reserva-
tions, call the NCJW,
258-6000. Deadline for reser-
vations is Wednesday.
The luncheon meeting is
jointly sponsored by the
group's public relations and
program and membership
departments. Rita Selburn
and Gayle Hirsch are pro-
gram chairmen.

NCJW To Visit
Design Center

The National Council of
Jewish Women, Greater
Detroit Section, will present
a tour and luncheon with Eve
Garvin on Oct. 19 and 20.
Both days will, begin with a
tour of the Design Center in
Troy and proceed to lunch at
Norman's Eton Street Station
in Birmingham.
A maximum of 20 may par-
ticipate each day. The tour
will run from 9:30 to 11:30
a.m., followed by lunch.
The local columnist and
author of Designing Ways has
been an interior designer for
more than 20 years. Garvin's
work has been featured in the
Detroit Free Press, the Pontiac
Press, the Sarasota Herald
Tribune, the Observer-
Eccentric Newspapers and
House Beautiful. She lived in
Sarasota, Florida, for several
years, where she established
the Lawrence Institute of In-
terior Design.
The event is open to NCJW
members only. There is a
charge. Reservations are
limited. For information or
reservations, call NCJW,
258-6000.
The programs have been
organized by the section's
membership department,
headed by Vice President Sal-
ly Green. Diane Brooks is
chairman of the event.
