Temple To Hear
MCF President

Dr. Michael J. Brennan will
speak to Temple Israel
Sisterhood following a noon
luncheon on Oct. 10 at the
temple. His topic will be
"Breast Cancer: All Your
Questions Answered!"
Dr. Brennan is the presi-
dent of the Michigan Cancer
Foundation, director of the
Comprehensive Cancer
Center of Metropolitan
Detroit and a professor of

Greater Detroit Section, will
host its first meeting of the
year on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
at the Jewish Vocational Ser-
vices Building (rear en-
trance), 29699 Southfield,
Southfield. The evening's pro-
gram will be "Always in Style
. . . or Almost in Style"
presented by image consul-
tant Peg Treacy.
Dinner will be served at 6
p.m., followed by a frief
business meeting and then
the evening's presentation.
Women of all ages, with
business or professional in-
terests, are invited. There is
a charge and non-members
are invited. For reservations,
call the N.C.J.W. office,
258-6000.

Tea Planned

Dr. Michael Brennan

medicine at Wayne State
School of Medicine.
Dr. Brennan has received
professional and scientific ap-
pointments to numerous task
forces, committees and coun-
cils at both local and national
levels. He was appointed in
1976 to the Public Health Ad-
visory Council by Gov.
William Milliken.
He has edited four books on
breast cancer and has written
more than 100 books, articles
and professional papers.
In addition to Dr. Brennan,
Dr. Barry Bates, vice presi-
dent of the Wayne County
Unit, American Cancer Socie-
ty, will be present with the
Mammogram Mobile. Ex-
aminations will be available
from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
and from 2:30 p.m. until 4
p.m. Interested persons must
have the following: a physi-
cian's written or phone order,
physician's name, address,
phone and diagnosis. There is
a fee for the service.
The program is under the
direction of Janie Roth, pro-
gram vice president.
Assisting her are luncheon
chairmen: Gayle Hirsh and
Rosanne Fienman. There is a
charge. Reservations are re-
quired. Call the temple office
for information and reserva

The Business and Profes-
sional Branch of the National
Council of Jewish Women,

Orchard Hills Chapter,
Women's American ORT, will
have a fashion show and
membership tea on Oct. 10 at
7:30 p.m. The show will be
held at Aldingbrooke club
house and will feature the
latest fall fashions. A dessert
buffet will be served.
Guests and prospective
members are invited. There is
no charge for new members
who join the chapter on the
evening of the show. Reserva-

Women's Group
To Hear Levy

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Women's Division will
kick off its Food for Thought
luncheon series with a talk by
Edward C. Levy Jr., 11:30
a.m. Oct. 13 at Tam
O'Shanter Country Club.
Levy is a communal, in-
dustrial and civic leader and
president of the American
Israel Public Affairs Commit-
tee (AIPAC).
Active in the community,
Levy serves on the Jewish
Welfare Federation board of
governors and is an interna-
tional trustee of Tel Aviv
University's Center for
Strategic Studies. He is a
member of the executive com-
mittee of the Greater Detroit
Interfaith Round Table of the
National Conference of Chris-
tians and Jews.
Nancy Glass is chairman of
the Food for Thought series.
Nancy Levy is associate
chairman and Valerie Et-
tinger is luncheon chairman.
Geri Lester is a vice president
of Women's Division, and
Sharon Hart is president.
