DR. LEONARD ARLIN
COHEN, 64, of Southfield,
died Sept. 13. Survived by his
wife, I. Sheila; two sons, Seth
and Jared; a daughter, Mrs.
Edward (Ellyn) Goldberg of
Thornhill, Ont.; a brother,
Manfred L. of Rhode Island;
and five grandchildren. Inter-
ment New York.
MIKHAIL GALANT, 82, of
Ann Arbor, died Sept. 11. He
leaves his wife, Mera; two
daughters, Mrs. Igor (Angela)
Keselman and Suzana of Yp-
silanti; and two grand-
children. Interment Ann
Arbor.
DOROTHY W. GOLDMAN,
73, of Oak Park, died Sept. 10.
Survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Jerry (Ilene) Sawyer and
Mrs. Michael (Dennice) Abels;
a sister, Mrs. Jack (Rose)
Homer; two grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
SAM KATZ, 74, of Oak Park,
died Sept. 9. Survived by his
wife, Louise S.; two daughters,
Dr. Beth Berghoff of Fayet-
teville, N.C., and Mrs. David
(Judith) Silverton of Vernon
Hills, Ill.; two brothers, Louis
of Flint and Phillip of
Plymouth; four grand-
children, nieces and nephews.
ELIZABETH MORETSKY,
83, former Detroiter of
Phoenix, Ariz., died Sept. 10.
She leaves three sons, Sol J.
of Phoenix, Dr. Robert I. of
West Bloomfield and Sanford
L. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two
sisters, Victoria Remer of
Livonia and Berta Moshe of
Israel; and six grandchildren.
Interment Detroit.
ANNE ROVNER, of Min-
neapolis, Minn., died Aug. 24.
Survived by a sister, Sophie
Caplan Fenton of Southfield;
a brother, Harry Rovner of
Minneapolis; one niece, one
nephew, great-nieces and a
great-nephew.

Southfield, died Sept. 14. Sur-
vived by a son, Dr. Arnold; a
daughter, Mrs. Sidney (Rose)

grandchildren.
IRVING M. WEISBERG,
67, died Sept. 8. He leaves his
wife, Marcia; two sons, Bruce
and Alan of California; two
sisters, Mrs. Isadore (Sylvia)
Epstein and Mrs. Irving
(Estelle) Gladstone; and three
grandsons.
Dr. Hirschfeld
Dr. Alexander Herzog
Hirschfeld, who served on the
medical faculties of the
University of California in
San Francisco, Wayne State
University and the Universi-
ty of Michigan, died May 8 at
age 73.
A former Detroiter, Dr.
Hirschfeld resided in Mill
Valley, Calif., at the time of
his death. He was graduated
from the Univerity of
Michigan Medical School in
1936. He practiced medicine
in Detroit for 40 years, prior
to moving to San Francisco in
1976.

Hirschfeld was a delegate to
the International Conference
of Stress in Industry in 1970.
He developed an integrated
medical approach to
rehabilitating patients with
chronic disability. His theory
on the process of accidents
was described in a series of ar-
ticles he wrote for the Jour-
nal of the American Medical
Association in 1963 became
standard medical practice.
Dr. Hirschfeld is survived
by his wife, Mary Lou Wilson
Hirschfeld; two sons, Robert
M.A. of Bethesda, Md., and
Lawrence of Paris, France;
two step-children, Dr. James
Russell of Edmonton Alberta,
Canada, and Roxanne Ryan
of San Anselmo, Calif.; and
five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be
held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tem-
ple Beth El.
Russell Gilson
Russell Gilson, a retired
engineer and founder and
owner of Tech-Com, technical
publications, died Sept. 10 at
age 69.
Born in Los Angeles, Calif.,
Mr. Gilson was a member of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
He leaves his wife, Rosaline;
two daughters, Mrs. Ronald
(Jacqueline) Lorfel and Mrs.
Steven (Kathryn) Sussman; a
sister, Faye Cotler of Orange,
Calif.; and two
granddaughters.

Israel were captured last
week by an Israel Defense
Force patrol in the southern
Lebanon security zone.
