A PUBLIC HEARING
ON legislation which will
create a Michigan-Israel
Commercial Horizons board
will be held on Aug. 31 at 7:30
p.m. in the Chamber of the
City Council at the Southfield
Civic Center.
Introduced by State Rep.
Burton Leland, the bill would
establish a statewide infor-
mation clearinghouse and ad-
visory council to assist and
further promote commercial
relationships with Israel.
Housed in the Department of
Commerce, the board will
bring together qualified ex-
perts and activists on a
statutory sanctioned board.
The hearings, to be con-
ducted by the House Commit-
tee on Economic Develop-
ment and Energy, will seek
the views of interested parties
and the general public as to
the merits of the legislation.
