Saul Berkower
Saul Berkower, a furrier in
Detroit for more than 40
years, died Aug. 20 at age 97.
Born in Poland, Mr.
Berkower came to the U.S. 81
years ago and to Detroit 54
years ago. Mr. Berkower spent
many hours studying Torah.
He was a member of Con-
gregation Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses. He had written
a book, Pleasant Words.
He is survived by his wife,
Alice; a son, Dr. Lary; a
daughter, Mrs. Richard (Lin-
da) Merkle; and six
grandchildren.
