HELP SAVE
A JEINIsill
NATIONAL
TREAsIURE

Many of us remember as children the blue box that
signified a Jewish home. In that Jewish National
Fund box, we placed the coins that one day would
help buy land and trees for the future Jewish State.

One of the most devastating reports coming out of
Israel in recent months has focused on the
destruction of thousands of trees and acres of
pastureland — land that has been the foundation of
Israel's rebirth.

In many cases, this destruction has been deliberate:
acts of terrorism by enemies of the State of Israel
against its agricultural and industrial resources.

Since the beginning of May, more than 35,000
acres of forests and orchards have been destroyed.

With its limited finances and manpower, Israel is ill-
prepared to combat this form of warfare.

To replace every tree, to redeem and beautify the
land — and equally important, to acquire the latest
fire-fighting equipment and communications
systems to help Israel's overwhelmed forces — the
Jewish National Fund has mounted a worldwide
emergency cash campaign.
